Andrew Ingles

Andrew Ingles is currently TNC’s Director of Land and Water Conservation, Asia Pacific. Andrew joined TNC in 2010 and previously held the roles of Director of the AP Forest Program, Interim Director for the Indonesia Country Program, and more recently, Director of External Affairs for the AP region. Andrew has accrued nearly 40 years of on-the-ground experience addressing sustainable development and nature conservation challenges across 16 countries in Asia Pacific and Africa. He spent the first 10 years of his professional life working in production forestry in Australia and then left in the late 1980s to work on foreign aid projects in Nepal and Lao PDR. Andrew went on to lead large nature conservation programs across Asia for the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), based out of Bangkok. After spending 25 years abroad, Andrew returned to Australia eight years ago to take up his regional position with TNC. He now lives in Manly, Queensland and enjoys spending time in the outdoors and making a lot of noise with his large collection of guitars.
