Biography

Tom is a seasoned educator and passionate conservationist. He graduated with a biology degree from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2013 and has since dedicated his career to the local marine education field. Joining The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Hong Kong in 2020 as the Conservation Education Manager, Tom has been instrumental in overseeing TNC's environmental education programs and youth engagement work in Hong Kong.

One of Tom's notable achievements was the development and implementation of the Ridge to Reef Environmental Education Program from 2020 to 2022. Working closely with 80 local schools, he successfully nurtured students' understanding of coastal ecosystems through dynamic teaching resources and immersive field visits to TNC's conservation site at Pak Nai.

As TNC’s Community Conservation Manager, Tom now takes the lead in TNC's community conservation programs, school education initiatives, and youth engagement work. His primary focus is on promoting local oyster reef restoration efforts and ensuring wider public involvement in TNC's habitat management activities at Pak Nai. Over the past three years, Tom has mobilized and engaged more than 6,000 public volunteers, fostering a strong sense of stewardship and actively contributing to the preservation of this ecological hotspot.
