The Nature Conservancy's (TNC) "Nature's Canvas: TNC Photo Contest Exhibition" will commence in mid-July at Pacific Place. The exhibition will showcase the award-winning photographs from TNC's annual Global Photo Contest. Just as artists use canvas to create paintings, our planet is nature's canvas, and the photographs on display highlight this by capturing the beauty of breathtaking landscapes, intricate ecosystems, and thriving plants and wildlife. TNC hopes that this event will allow visitors to connect with nature's beauty and wonder and learn more about the importance of environmental protection and nature conservation efforts. Check out the exhibition details and winning pieces below!

Exhibition title: Nature's Canvas: TNC Photo Contest Exhibition (Free Entry!)
Exhibition date: 2023/07/13-26
Exhibition venue: Park Court, Level L1, Pacific Place (near Shiro)

* Free postcards with nature themes will be delivered on-site. Visitors are welcome to write down their wishes for nature, and TNC will then send them to their friends or themselves.

Nature's Canvas AR challenge

The Nature Conservancy is organizing the "Nature's Canvas AR challenge" to encourage the public to unleash their creativity. This contest combines AR technology with the beauty of nature to showcase an ideal healthy natural environment.

To participate, simply visit the exhibition, enter the AR game site and position the camera in front of the exhibition title board near the entrance, follow the instructions to complete your artwork, and share it to social media platforms with the hashtag #natures_canvas and tag @tnc_hk on Instagram.

Don't forget to write an encouraging message or slogan for nature. The five most beautiful and meaningful artworks will win the contest and receive a TNC environmental gift pack, which includes a custom-made woolen notebook, a set of animal-themed postcards, and a TNC environmental bag. Don't miss the chance to visit the exhibition and create your ideal nature art using AR technology.

Start creating at https://tnc.8thwall.app/naturescanvas now! (* For further details of the challenge, please refer to the T&C at this link)

“The diversity of images from around the world gave a glimpse into our fragile planet and all the life that inhabits it. The contest itself was a mesmerizing odyssey and we are left with a profound message of how interconnected all of us are and what it means to our own survival to intermingle with wildness.”

“The composition of this photo and its color balance is absolutely beautiful. The eye is drawn to these elements first and then you realize the center point is the mother polar bear and her cubs. The abandonment of the Russian settlement is a powerful statement that nature can and hopefully will reclaim its rightful place and despite the mess we leave behind life finds a way. For an animal like the polar bear, which is physically running out of space for existence due to constantly melting sea ice, the bravery it shows for a mother to find a place of refuge for her cubs is a heartwarming scene amongst the frigid feel this entire vision portrays.”
